It is also instructive from the design point of view to plot out the ratios Dm/Gm from the horizontal and inclined surface radiation tables. This helps bring out the relative importance of the contribution of diffuse radiation to the incident solar radiation on differently inclined surfaces at various times of the year. Figure 2 provides such data plotted from the basic radiation tables for Valentia in Ireland and Figure 3 for Carpentras in France.
